FAQ
1. What do I wear? Is there a dress-code?
Many of you who are attending your first Indian wedding will be wondering what to wear. Whilst it is an Indian wedding - you are more than welcome to wear formal western wedding attire or wear Asian wedding wear. Please don't worry too much about what to wear, as there will be plenty of guests dressed in either attire style.
2. Will food be provided?
Vegetarian food and snacks will be provided at all wedding events. As this is also a religious occasion, alcohol will not be served, and we kindly ask that guests refrain from bringing their own.
Breakfast is not included as part of the hotel package. However, there are plenty of restaurants and eateries near the hotel, or you can easily order-in using apps like Swiggy or Zomato.
3. Do I as a EU Citizen need a visa to travel to India?
Most EU citizens travelling to India for tourism (including for our wedding) can apply for a visa online, with no embassy/consulate visit required. The website can be glitchy, so give yourself extra time and don't panic if it acts up. The process takes about 10–15 minutes and approval usually comes within a few days, but we recommend applying at least 2–4 weeks before travel to be safe. Make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond your arrival date. Requirements can vary slightly depending on your home country, so please double check with the Indian Embassy or Consulate where you live if you have questions.
4. What are the hotel check-in and check-out dates and timings?
Check-in is on 08.12.2026 14:00 onwards, and check-out is on 11.12.2026 at 12:00 noon.
5. Do I need to make any payment at the hotel? What's the check-in procedure?
No payment is needed, the hotel stay has already been taken care of. We'll share more check-in details, including a point of contact, closer to the date
6. How can I contribute/gifts?
We are not accepting gifts at the weddings. Your presence is a gift in itself.
7. How can I travel across Bangalore?
Cab services like Ola and Uber work well in Bangalore. Alternatively, using the same app, you could book an auto-rickshaw too. Stick to app-booked cabs after dark rather than hailing on the street. Walking, however, is not recommended if its more than a kilometer away, or if its too late at night.
8. What's the address of the venue?
The exact addresses will be shared in due time. Not all events are at the same location, but they're all close to the accommodation (within about 5 km).
9. Can I take photos/videos during the events?
While there is a team of photographers and videographers, feel free to take as many as you like.
10. Is the tap water drinkable?
No, please buy bottled water only. Ice in drinks at restaurants/hotels is usually fine, but be cautious at street stalls
11. What currency do I use and how do I pay?
Cards are accepted at hotels, malls, and larger restaurants, but not always at small shops or street vendors. Bring a Visa or Mastercard and let your bank know you're travelling. Cash is useful for smaller purchases. Withdraw from bank ATMs and skip airport exchange counters, rates are much worse than in the city.
UPI (India's QR-code payment system) is how most places prefer to be paid. Tourist-friendly apps like CheqUPI or Mony let you set up a wallet without an Indian bank account, useful if you"re in India for a while. A card plus some cash (and optionally a UPI wallet) will cover you well.
12. What time zone would we be in?
India follows IST (Indian Standard Time), which is UTC+5:30. Since the wedding is in December, most of Europe will be on winter time, so the difference will be 4.5 hours ahead of CET.
13. What plug type and voltage is used?
India uses Type C, D, and M sockets, running on 230V. EU plugs (Type C/E) usually fit directly, so most travelers won't need an adapter. Its still worth it to carry a universal adapter just in case.
14. Will I be able to communicate in English?
Yes, English is widely spoken and understood, especially in hotels, restaurants, and tourist areas, so you shouldn't run into any language barriers.
15. Any tips for getting household essentials during my stay?
If you need anything like toiletries, snacks, or other everyday essentials, you can order using Blinkit or Swiggy, they are quick delivery apps widely used in India and deliver household essentials within 15 mins or so.
